TIPS FROM
KEN VENTURI:
FINISH POSITION FOR THE FULL GOLF SWING

Back to Index

The finish of your swing is a great indicator of what has transpired during the swing.  Balance is critical to hitting consistent shots.  When you finish your swing, hold your follow through and check your balance.  Here are some checkpoints that are evident in a good finish.

  • Your weight has finished over the top of your front heel.
  • Your front foot is in the same position as in the address position.
  • You have pivoted up and onto your back toe.
  • Your back knee is almost even with your front knee.
  • Your belt buckle should be pointing at the target.
  • Your hands should finish behind your neck.
  • Your spine should be in a vertical position.

Remember the follow through should a result of a good athletic move.  A good finish position indicates a good swing.
