For better balance think ice
To encourage good balance and help reduce tension in your lower body throughout the swing imagine that you are standing on ice not solid ground.
You want to feel light on your feet, with your feet not dug into the ground. After setting up to the ball gently move your feet as if you were testing the ice so see if it would break under you.
This thought will help you keep relaxed and ready to begin your swing from a balanced position.
