Correctly fitted to the grip, the pads help you to place your hands on the club for a perfect grip on every shot

A simple idea that can help you to monitor the position of your hands on the grip when you practise (not legal for competitive play).
By placing the two thumb locators on your grip, you eliminate error and can practise safe in the knowledge that your hands are fitted perfectly on every swing.
Useful when making a grip change, which always feels awkward, and also for working on certain speciality shots, such as a splash shot from a bunker, when you can use the pads to create the open clubface before placing your hands on the grip.
