For the
5- and 6-iron, where accuracy becomes more important, a less
'hot-of-the-face' cast steel head is adopted, with the tungsten
now shifted to the edges for greater forgiveness.
Meanwhile,
for the 7-iron through to the sand iron, feel and workability
is met by a soft steel and nickel combination face.
"It's
about putting weight exactly where you need it," says Dick
Rugge, the company's Director of Research. "We used computer
models to maximise the mass properties - and therefore the
performance - of each club in the bag," he continues on this
the most intricately designed set of irons we've seen in long
time.
Price:
£899 (nine irons), graphite Bubble shaft; £699 steel.
