DUVAL
& TITLEIST - WORLD'S NO. 1
Titleist
- the world's No. 1 ball carried David Duval to victory in the Tournament
Player's Championship on Sunday and to the top of the World Rankings.
The
Titleist ball has been the most played on the PGA Tour every year
for the last 50 years. Duval's win at Sawgrass playing the Titleist
golf ball provided Titleist's 13th successive win in the 13 events
on the PGA Tour so far this season. Further proof that there's a
world of difference between a golf ball and the No 1 ball in golf.
Duval's
win in the Player's Championships along with the Bob Hope Chrysler
Classic & Mercedes Championship earlier in the year takes his
tally to three victories on the Roll of Honour for Titleist players
this season - Tim Herron (Bay Hill International), Vijay Singh (Honda
Classic), Steve Elkington (Doral Ryder Open), Jeff Maggert (Anderson
Consulting Match Play), Gabriel Hjerstedt (Tucson Open), Ernie Els
(Nissan Open), Tiger Woods (Buick International), Payne Stewart
(AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am), Rocco Mediate (Phoenix
Open) and Jeff Sluman (Sony Hawaiian Open).
Duval
who trusts Titleist equipment from tee to green, played the Titleist
Professional 90 ball with its advanced liquid-filled centre wound
ball technology, in the breezy conditions over the extremely demanding
Sawgrass course. Duval drives with the Titleist Titanium 975D driver
and plays the Titleist 962B irons. Titleist Titanium drivers have
won 7 tournaments out of a possible 13 this season, more than double
the nearest rival.
Duval
putted with the same Pro Platinum Newport putter from the Scotty
Cameron by Titleist range that captured two victories earlier this
season. Vital birdies at the 9th, 12th and finally the fearsome
17th, secured Duval's victory in front of his home crowd in Jacksonville.
This was the new World No 1's 10th victory in his last 33 starts
in Tour events.
Meanwhile
Bob Duval made it a Titleist and family double winning his first
event on the PGA Seniors Tour in Tallahassee. Dottie Pepper added
to Titleist's triumph playing the Titleist ball in the Dinah Shore
in Palm Spring, California. Both players also trusted their game
to Titleist clubs tee to green.
Pedro
Linhart's win on the European Tour in the Madeira Island Open provided
another victory for the Titleist ball. Linhart's 12 under par victory
by one stroke over fellow Titleist ball player and Ryder Cup Captain
Mark James, was the 5th first-time winner on the European Tour this
season, but the 8th win by the Titleist ball out of a possible 9
events.
