European
Tour's Top 20 Prefer Titleist /
New
Tour Prestige to be Launched
All of the top
20 finishers at the European Tour's opening event, the South African
PGA, played using Titleist balls
At the Houghton
Golf Club Ernie Els played the Titleist Professional and a further
three quarters of the players used the Titleist golf ball. On
the US Tour, Jeff Sluman won the Sony Open in Hawaii, his second
victory in five months using a Tielist golf ball.
Titleist launches
its new "Tour Prestige" at the PGA Merchandise Golf Show
in Orlando. Along with the Titleist Professional and Tour Balata,
the new Tour Prestige is manufactured using Titleist's liquid-filled
centre technology. The new ball has a thicker walled thermoplastic
liquid-filled centre, high energy elastic windings and a softer
Elastomer cover. Titleist claim the ball will deliver a higher spin
for control, has softer feel and distance and shear-resistant durability.
The ball is available from April in 90 and 100 compression.
All of Titleist's
new equipment is tested with players at the highest level and the
ball has already seen success with Jeff Sluman at the Greater Milwaukee
Open last September, and Billy Andrade in the Bell Canadian Open.
