TAYLOR MADE RESCUE UTILITY WOOD

The roaring success of the Adams Tights Lies (with sales over1 million) has sparked a major fashion in exotic utility and fairway woods. With a flat low-profile, the Rescue continues the 'retro' fashion chic of the Adams but, courtesy of a 100-gram tungsten weight 'plug' in the sole, till manages to concentrate a full 75% of the club-weight in the lower half of the titanium head.

The resulting effect on getting the ball airborne from all lies is further helped by the aerodynamic

soleplate - a modern take on the famous Taylor Made Raylor.

Purists may shun the unusual design but we can report that Fred Couples, Mark O'Meara and Vijay Singh are all fans, while eccentric senior Gary McCord played the 15- and 21-degree versions to victory at a recent US senior tour event.

Four lofts are available with, we suggest, the 21-degree version being a perfect alternative to your unloved 3-iron.
