PRIDE LAUNCHES
50TH ANNIVERSARY VELVET VICTORY

Golf Pride grips,
a division of Eaton Corporation, announces that it has launched
its new 50th anniversary, "Velvet Victory" grip. Introduced
at the 1998 PGA International Show in Las Vegas, the Velvet Victory
combines the computer-designed, non-slip surface pattern of Golf
Pride's popular Tour Velvet model, with the exclusive hand placement
design of the company's legendary victory grip. The Velvet Victory
will be available in an all-new proprietary rubber compound that
provides positive feel and increased durability, as well as tour-sanded
velvet cord and half-cord material. Initial supply of the Velvet
Victory will be available from leading golf suppliers in early spring.
Eaton-Golf Pride
is the world's leading manufacturer of moulded-rubber, slip-on golf
club grips, serving OEM and aftermarket segments from manufacturing
and distribution facilities located in eight countries on four continents.
In 1999 the company will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "Golf
Pride" grip, which over the past five decades has become the
industry standard fro golf grips. According to many golf industry
veterans, because it helped facilitate mass-production of golf clubs,
the moulded-rubber, slip-on Golf Pride grip was one of the most
important equipment developments in the modern ear, and today may
be the most universally accepted and used product in the history
of golf.
