LPGA TOUR EVENT
Callaway
Golf staff professional Rachel Hetherington continued her rapid
ascent through the LPGA tour ranks with her one-stroke win at the
rain-shortened City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic this past weekend
- her second straight tour victory. In a matter of just two weeks,
Hetherington, 27, has rocketed from 50th place to 6th place on the
LPGA tour money list.
Hetherington
began her hot streak with a playoff win at the Chick-fil-a Charity
Championship, where she put a new se of Big Bertha X-12 Irons in
her bag. She continued her crisp play at the City of Hope Myrtle
Beach Classic, which was shorted to 36 holes by rain. Hetherington
carried her 12 Callaway clubs and and Odyssey putter in her Callaway
bag en route to claiming the £101,250 first prize and her
third career win.
"These
past two weeks have been outstanding," said Hetherington, who
also used a Callaway titanium driver, Big Bertha Steelhead 3-wood,
5-wood, 7-wood and 9-wood, Big Bertha X-12 Irons and an Odyssey
TriForce 2 putter. "I got a new set of Big Bertha irons and
my confidence has been great. Its been good fun to play this well."
Callaway
Golf's drivers, fairway woods and irons were the most played clubs
at the City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic, according to the Darrell
Survey. The Callaway brand accounted for 49.3 percent of the drivers
in play, 75.7 percent of the fairway woods in play and 49.3 percent
of irons in play.
