3rd April - Two of Britain's makers of electric golf caddies
have joined forces. Wheelpower International of Birmingham, owned
by the Grundy Group, has acquired the business assets, designs and
manufacturing rights of Caddymatic of Tewkesbury.
New managing
director of Caddymatic, Ted Goddard said there would be no job losses
and that both companies will continue to manufacture their existing
range and to supply spare parts and servicing to existing customers.
Wheelpower
is seven years old and Caddymatic was set up in 1986 and between
them they claim to sell about 10,000 caddies a year in the UK and
to other golf-playing countries.
Wheelpower
International was acquired by the Grundy Group, a company with interets
in publishing, printing, stockbroking and finance.
