Palakona
or split-cane wooden shafts were introduced in the 1920's.
While popular, they never really revolutionised golf the same
way metal shafts did a short time later. Endorsed by 1904
British Open champion, Jack White, later of Sunningdale Golf
Club, I am unsure what constituted a complete set. (It might
even have been the six clubs you describe.) That said, there
is still a market for such interesting clubs but only a small
one. Consequently, the only clue to price I can offer is that
whenever they appear at auction, whether individually or other
wise, Palakona shafted clubs fetch about £30 each.
