GOLF
TREASURES:
YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
I
have a golf ball imprinted with the Ryder Cup logo from 1971
the ball is a number 1 in red. A friend of mine called the
Ryder Cup office in Florida a few years ago and they thought
it might have been used in play and might be interested in
it. Does it have any value?

With interest
in the Ryder Cup at an all time high on both sides of the
Atlantic, memorabilia associated with the event has sky-rocketed
in price in recent years. However, it is doubtful that your
logo golf ball would have been used by any of the players
in the actual match at Old Warson. It is much more likely
that it was sold as memorabilia in much the same way Ryder
Cup logo balls are sold today. With that in mind, I would
still suggest a value of around $50.
