TAYLORMADE
SOLVES TOUR PLAYER DILEMNA WITH R300 LAUNCH
Deutsche Bank SAP Open TPC:- Worldwide No. 3 Ernie Els today
welcomed the introduction of a 'hot-faced' version of his
current 360ti driver.
Els,
a truly global player, will now switch to the R360ti when
he plays in Europe, but continue to use the 360ti on the US
Tour. In launching the R300 Series, Els believes that TaylorMade
is setting the standard for pros who play on both tours:
"Soon all pros will have two drivers; one for America and
another for Europe." Said Els. "The secret is producing clubs
that feel so similar, we have no trouble switching."
The R300 Series is an extension of the 300 Series and benefits
from all the
features that have made it the No. 1 driver on the US, Japanese
and European
Tours. The only difference is the 'hotness' of the face, which
has added extra distance to an already long club.
Els commented on the club's performance:
"This R360ti gives me extra distance without compromising
the control that I
've been getting with my 360ti. It makes switching very easy,
and will hopefully give me the edge in Europe. I expect many
US pros to switch when they comeover for The Open this year
and I also think a number of players from both US and Europe
will tee up the R300 at the Ryder Cup."
TaylorMade's European Marketing Manager, Robin Gibson, said
of the club:
"Until the COR dispute is resolved, this is the way tour equipment
will evolve. It solves the dilemna for pros who use want to
use 'hot' drivers in Europe, yet have no USGA alternative
to use when they play in the States. No other manufacturer
offers a solution to this problem."
