TI FAMILY OF FAIRWAY WOODS PROVIDE DISTANCE & CONTROL
FROM ANY LIE
Utility clubs beware: TaylorMade's new 300 Ti family of fairway
woods may soon become the core golfer's 'power' club of choice
from tee, fairway or rough.
Introduced at last month's PGA Merchandise Show and available
immediately,
TaylorMade's new fairway woods come in two head styles (the
300 Ti Tour and
the 300 Ti Series) and feature a railed sole plate and the
lowest centre of gravity in company history - providing maximum
playability from all lies.
"Alone, these clubs are an incredibly powerful part of any
player's long game," said Tom Olsavsky, director of product
marketing, metalwoods. "But, combined with our 300 Series
driver, you now have the perfect one-two combination to reach
those par fours and fives in two shots."
Along with the technology, design played a major role in developing
both 300
Ti fairway woods. Using a more rounded railed sole plate (taken
directly from TaylorMade's successful Raylor), a clear reduction
in ground contact evolved. This new design allows the club
head to explode the ball out of thick rough, divots, holes,
sand and other lies beyond the fairway.
While the rails give the element of a utility club, the lower
CG provides the benefit of a power driver. While other fairway
woods use steel at the top of the club head, the 300 Ti family
uses titanium. With this lighter metal at the top - combined
with tungsten alloy plug in the sole - the club's CG is lower
than any fairway wood offered by TaylorMade. The result: weight
where the core golfer needs it for added distance and control.
300 Ti Tour
Head/Face: The 300 Ti Tour fairway woods feature a deep-face
design preferred by high-skill players seeking a penetrating
trajectory.
Shaft: Players have two shaft options, each offering optimum
shaft weight distribution and flex properties valued by top
players. The standard offering is a newly designed fairway
tour shaft (.350-inch tip), the latest generation of graphite
shaft technology. This proprietary tour graphite shaft is
slightly heavier (75 grams) for optimum workability. The second
option is the improved Bubble Tour shaft (also .350-inch tip),
the evolution of the revolutionary Bubble shaft technology.
The #3 comes in a 43-inch standard length and allows a neutral
directional bias. Custom shafts are also available.
Availability: The 300 Ti Tour fairway woods are available
in #3 (13 or 15 degree loft), 4 (17 degree loft) and #5 (19
degree loft), and retail for £349.
300 Ti Series
Head/Face: The 300 Ti Series fairway woods come in a traditional
head size with a shallow mid-size profile to create carry
and lift, as well as to create confidence at address and increased
forgiveness. Each 300 Ti Series comes with the "PowerBand"
crown alignment that creates greater impact efficiency and
increases shot consistency. The 300 Ti Series feature the
same low CG as the 300 Ti Tour, but has more face area than
traditional shallow-face fairway woods, allowing for a larger
sweetspot.
Shaft: Same offerings as the 300 Ti Tour, including custom
shafts. The shaft is 43.5 inches and the club features a slight
right-to-left directional tendency.
Availability: 300 Ti Series fairway woods are available in
#3 (13 or 15 degree loft, #5 (17 degree loft), #7 (20 degree
loft) and #9 (23 degree loft), and retail for £349.
