TAYLORMADE
LAUNCHES
R&A-COMPLIANT 300 SERIES* TYPE R DRIVER TO RAVE REVIEWS
IN JAPAN
TaylorMade Golf today announced the highly successful launch
of its R&A-compliant 300 Series* Type R driver to Japanese
consumers, beginning the introduction of the international
version of the company's USGA-legal driver that has already
won 23 golf titles worldwide.
With a higher coefficient of restitution (COR) than its popular
300 Series *
the 300 Series Type R will be offered only in regions governed
by the R&A.
"Japan is the perfect place to launch this club for one simple
reason: They
love unique technology and innovative companies," said president
Mark King.
"Combine our groundbreaking reputation and the 300 Series'
success beyond
Asia, and the 'Type R' is going to be a huge hit."
With more than 20 million golfers, Japan is TaylorMade's second-largest
sales market behind the U.S.
"I can see why they've been so excited about this for months
in the U.S.
This club beats any other here," offered Kazuo Yamada, president
of
Hiroshima Golf Shop. "We've been waiting for the international
version of
the 300 Series for awhile...I've even had to start a customer
waiting list.
Every one of them will be in my store tomorrow asking when
they can get
them."
The USGA-version
of the 300 Series, which has been available in limited
quantity at U.S. retail since October, is also the fastest-growing
driver on
the PGA and European PGA Tours. Along with its 23 wins worldwide,
its also
taken home 57 PGA top-10 finishes.
