Nike Golf Signs Quintet To Play New Clubs
The most anticipated golf club debut in years has yet
to officially take place, but the new, yet-to-hit-retail,
sticks from Nike Golf are already winning converts on the
PGA & European Tours.
Nike
Golf announced that it has reached agreements with Mark Brooks,
John Cook, Glen Day, Brian Gay and Franklin Langham to play
its new clubs, effective next season.
Terms of the agreements were not announced, although all five
are multi-year deals. All were already under contract to play
the Nike Tour Accuracy golf ball and wear the company's shoes
and gloves.
In
addition, Cook, Langham, Day, and Brooks will also be toting
their new clubs in the new Nike Tour Staff Bag. These five
join Stewart Cink, Bryce Molder and David Duval as Nike Golf
staff members who have agreed to put new clubs from Nike Golf
in their bags in 2002. Duval
has already notched a victory with the driver and won the
British Open with his prototype irons.
Nike
Golf plans to launch its golf club line publicly at the PGA
Merchandise Show in Orlando on January 24th, 2002.
