LEARN
HOW TO PLAY LINKS GOLF
Traditional
Scottish links golf is the pure version of the game. It is
golf played more on the ground than in the air but the skills
required to tackle the great links courses effectively come
only with knowledge and experience.
There
is great fulfilment in finding a way round courses such as
Carnoustie, the Old Course at St Andrews or the wonderful
links of Western Gailes, but only those who have mastered
the knock-down shot and the chip and run can hope to find
success.
The new
Links Golf Academy at Turnberry in Ayrshire is offering golfers
the opportunity to learn how to play links golf effectively
under programmes created by the Scottish golfing star Colin
Montgomerie.
Superb
teaching facilities and personalised programmes reveal the
secrets to successful links golf with the added bonus of being
able to put what is learned to the test on the Open Championship
Ailsa Course and the new Kintyre Course at Turnberry.
Prices
range from one-to-one sessions with an Academy professional
at £50 for 45 minutes to the Full Monty package at £235 for
an individual or £130 as part of a group. This package includes
a three-hour lesson, lunch in the clubhouse and nine holes
on the Kintyre Course with one of the Turnberry professionals
plus unlimited practice time at the Academy and an instruction
book on links golf.
