"GRAHAM MOORE INTERNATIONAL GOLF SCHOOLS LAUNCHES THE FIRST EVER JUNIOR ONLY GOLF CLUB"

VALE ROYAL MILLENNIUM JUNIOR GOLF CLUB is the unique initiative of Graham Moore P.G.A. Consultant Professional to Golf Foundation on Junior Development.

The club is administrated by Graham Moore International Golf Schools for the junior members, which range from 3 years up to & including 21 years old.

It is a members club, a Committee & Officers of the club are in place. The Club is fully constituted and has an accountant, solicitors & Bank Account.

The Mayor of Vale Royal Borough Council is Patron & Honorary President.

The Club is based at Knights Grange Golf Course, Winsford Cheshire and has the full backing of the Council run establishment.

At the time of printing, the Club has 94 members. Medal Competitions, Rules & Etiquette, Team Matches, Eclectic, Winter / Summer League and Match play events are to name only a few of the activities being organised.

Moore quotes " Graham Moore International Golf Schools runs the club for the juniors and advises them on the correct direction, but it is a junior only club run by juniors for Juniors.

Many locations have Junior Sections or Junior Clubs, but this to my knowledge is the FIRST EVER junior only Club Worldwide recognised on are full size golf course run by juniors and will be affiliated to the Governing Bodies.

Provisional affiliation has already been agreed with Mr. Brian Nattrass Honorary President & Secretary of Cheshire Union, full affiliation is imminent as the Junior Club has now come in line with the requests set out by Cheshire Union.

We have 70 Juniors@ 12 & under, the remainder are at present between 13-18. Of the 70 juniors @ 12 years & under 24 are in. "G ‘S Little Tiger Section" for 3-7 year olds who compete in chipping, putting& short course competitions.

I decided to form the Club, as I needed an avenue for my network of Junior Academy children to filter into a golf club environment at an early age and for more established juniors to obtain more competition experience as well as being taught the rules & etiquette in an atmosphere they would feel happy and secure in.

The English Golf Union initiative for 2001 is to encourage more under 10’s to begin & retain the 18-21 year olds playing golf. Vale Royal Millennium Junior Golf Club comes on line with this policy @ both ends of the spectrum.

Junior handicaps begin @ 54 and are formatted using the advice from the Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU) who administers the standard scratch score and handicapping scheme of 1983. On reaching 28 handicap boys will use the CONGU system, on reaching 45 handicap girls will be governed by the Ladies Golf Union handicap system.
