FootJoy Launches Exciting New Range

FootJoy has introduced three new categories of golf shoes into their range in time for the 2001 season.

The introduction of the new FITdogs, Sierra Treks and eComfort shoes comes hard on the heels of the successful launch of FootJoy’s DryI.C.E shoes in 2000 and means that FootJoy has now enhanced its reputation for having the biggest and best range of golf shoes on the market.

The new FITdogs shoes, which will retail at £95.00, get their name from the American market where your feet are often referred to as your dogs. The FITdog is a moderately priced, performance shoe that offers optimum comfort and customised fit, hence their slogan "Your Dogs Won’t Bark."

The FITdogs shoes feature quality leather uppers, a lightweight moulded EVA midsole, which increases underfoot cushioning and flexibility and a Uni-Tech moulded DuraMax rubber/Eva outsole that provides excellent cushioning, increased flexibility and superior durability. They have an advanced IntelliShield temperature responsive, waterproof and breathable membrane bonded between the upper and the lining of the shoe as well as a brand new Vari-Fit footbed system that provides customised fit for all customers.

The moulded EVA Vari-Fit footbed system is ingenious but simple to use. Each shoe comes with three interchangeable heel cradles (Snug, Standard and Generous) and all the customer has to do is to select the one that is most appropriate for his own feet.

The shoes come in three styles, black smooth and digital waterproof leather, brown smooth and tumbled waterproof leather and white smooth and brown digital leather and are available in a wide range of sizes and widths.

The second new category of shoe in the 2001 FootJoy range is the men’s Sierra Treks range, the first shoe in golf to offer custom traction and comfort with waterproof protection.

The Sierra Treks shoe offers three traction types in one shoe to help a golfer to match the traction he needs with the elements of the day. Each pair of Sierra Treks shoes comes with three replaceable Custom Traction rings. The "Gold" rings offer Maximum traction and are ideal for hilly or rainy conditions. The "Blue" rings offer Everyday traction for standard conditions and the "Clear" rings give Soft traction and are best used in benign conditions.

The Sierra Treks shoe is an athletic shoe that has full grain leather uppers and an advanced Intellishield temperature responsive, waterproof breathable membrane bonded between the upper and the lining. In warm conditions, it provides excellent breathability but in cooler conditions it helps to insulate the foot.

Other features include Soft PU quarter linings, for additional touch and feel comfort, a lightweight moulded EVA midsole that increases underfoot cushioning and flexibility and a Uni-Tech moulded DuraMax rubber/EVA outsole that gives increased flexibility and superior durability.

The new Sierra Treks shoes are available in two styles, either white smooth leather with grey nubuc and black or black smooth with grey waxy leather, and will retail at £80.00.

FootJoy’s third new category of golf shoe is the eComfort, a lightweight golf shoe that features a mix of modern and contemporary styling.

The eComfort shoe, has extremely soft, lightweight, full grain leather uppers, super soft PU quarter linings, a 6mm Nylex covered EVA fitbed for added comfort and cushioning and a moulded DuraMax rubber/EVA outsole that provides excellent cushioning, increased flexibility and superior durability. They also have two interchangeable heel plugs, allowing the golfer the choice of either firm or soft customisable heel cushioning.

The eComfort range is available in a variety of colour options, sizes and widths with a retail price of £60.00.

All FootJoy shoes come with Softspikes cleats as standard and with the Fast Twist Insertion System that allows for quick and easy spike change and a dead lock system to ensure spike retention.
