Set to Launch New Ball
Callaway Golf are about to introduce a new, two-piece ball,
the CB1 Red, to complement their three-piece "Rule 35" balls
which came on the market a year ago.
The CB1 Red, which is expected to reach the hops in May, is
targeted at golfers who enjoy hitting the all as far as they
can and prefer a softer feel than other distance balls provide.
"We believe that golfers have more fun when they hit the ball
farther, and this golf ball was made to be a whole lot of
fun," said Mick McCormick, Callaway's executive vice president
of global sales. "Golfers who try the CB1 Red ball with either
of our new drivers are in for a real treat."
The CB1 Red ball has an injection-moulded ionomer cover with
a 382-dimple
pattern which promotes a higher flight.
"Because the CB1 Red has such superior aerodynamics, Callaway
Golf was able
to develop a softer cover and core than other distance balls,"
added McCormick.
"The
highly resilient polybutadiene core is blended with tungsten
to help increase initial velocity off the clubface. As a result,
the CB1 Red has a more pleasing feel than other distance balls
we have tested."
The
CB1 Red will be available in three-ball sleeves, with a suggested
retail
price of £6.25 each, or by the dozen (£24.99).
