Hot on the Heels of
Wilson
Wilson Sporting Goods have developed
a performance golf shoe which features their DynoSphere Technology
(DST) and will be available to retailers in March 2001.
Wilson first introduced DynoSphere cushioning
technology in its line of performance tennis shoes in January
1999. The Company said DynoSphere Technology consists of hundreds
of tiny thermo plastic rubber spheres encapsulated in cushioning
pads and dropped into midsole cavities of its performance
tennis shoes to provide outstanding shock absorption, stability
and enhanced forefoot flexibility.
Wilson evolved the DynoSphere Technology
by adding air in a centre channel of the DST cushioning pads
(calling it DSTO2 ) to improve shock absorption and further
enhance stability while reducing the weight of the technology.
The golf line consists of two shoes,
the Staff DSTO2 and Elite DSTO2. The Staff DSTO2 has DSTO2
cushioning in the heel and DST in the forefoot for outstanding
shock absorption and comfort, and the removable insole also
has a DST bag in the heel. The upper carries a two-year limited
waterproof guarantee and stability is enhanced through use
of Wilson's patented Stable Wrap technology. The quarter and
tongue linings are lined with Dri-lex 2-Zone Comfort linings
to wick moisture away from the foot and resist odour.
The Elite DSTO2 also has DSTO2 cushioning
in the heel for outstanding shock absorption and comfort,
and the upper carries a limited one-year waterproof guarantee.
The outsole was also designed for outstanding traction and
grip for varying lies and weather conditions, and also uses
Wilson's exclusive Twister dynamic cleat.
