TIGER REIGNS AT PEBBLE BEACH

Relies Upon Full Bag of Titleist Equipment for
Sixth Consecutive US Tour Victory

While the rains at Pebble Beach delayed the final round of the AT&T National Pro-Am until Monday, it didn’t stop Tiger Woods from rallying from seven shots down with seven holes to go to win the event in electrifying style.  It marked the sixth straight victory for Tiger, who  won the final four events of 1999 and the season-opener, the 2000 Mercedes Championships.  He has also won eight of the last nine events in which he has played.

The momentous performance of Tiger’s final 8-under par round 64 included an eagle, birdie, par, birdie finish, which he accomplished while trusting his Titleist equipment from tee to green. Tiger relies upon the advanced liquid filled centre wound technology of the Titleist Professional golf ball; the solid, consistent feel and performance of Titleist irons, Titleist Titanium 975D driver, Titleist 3-wood and Vokey Design wedges; and the soft feel and precision of the Scotty Cameron by Titleist Pro Platinum putter.  The  turning  point of his final charge was an eagle he recorded on the  15th  hole from 97 yards with a Vokey Design wedge.  He nearly holed out another wedge shot on the 16th hole.

While Tiger’s miraculous 17th career victory was in doubt until the event’s final hole, there was no question that Titleist would be the ball of choice for the winner.  Titleist players owned the top three positions as Vijay Singh  (Titleist Professional) and Matt Gogel (Titleist Tour Balata) tied for second, two strokes behind Tiger’s winning 15-under par 273 score.

Tiger’s win continues the momentum of Titleist’s golf ball success, marking the fourth victory for Titleist through the first five PGA TOUR events this season.  Tiger’s $720,000 winner’s cheque also vaults him over the $1 million mark in just  two  events this year.  More players, more wins, more money.
