1ST
& 3RD FOR TAYLOR MADE PROTOTYPE
SJÖLAND
& McGINLEY ON FORM WITH NEW DRIVER
Taylor
Made PROTOTYPE DRIVER that is causing such a stir on Tour,
notched up its first European tour victory yesterday, when
Patrik Sjöland won the Irish Open.
Swedish
star, Sjöland only put it into his bag last Tuesday. By
Sunday evening he had won his first Tour event since the
Italian Open in 1988.
McGinley,
another Taylor Made Tour player, also added the PROTOTYPE
to his bag on Tuesday. He finished an impressive 3rd
place.
Interest
in the club on both sides of the Atlantic has been phenomenal.
At a recent USPGA tournament over 30 pros had the PROTOTYPE
driver in play, and not one of them was a Taylor Made staff
player! In Europe, the head-count is already 15, and the
full shipment of clubs only arrived last week.
Taylor
Made has always used its stable of Tour Staff to validate
its technologies before the products are released to the
public. The interest in the PROTOTYPE from tour pros and
media alike has been so great that Taylor Made has created
a website, dedicated to the development of the club. Visitors
to www.projectprototype.com
can now track the progress of the club’s development until
its launch to the public.
Taylor
Made aims to launch the PROTOTYPE at the PGA Merchandise
Show in Orlando, 2001. Due to the success and huge interest,
however, they are considering making a limited number available
to the public later this year.
