Backs New Maxfli Ball
The
Maxfli Elite liquid-centre, wound ball with a new Urethane cover
technology is being launched at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
Targeted
at the better players, the ball has been developed and tested with
several of Maxfli's Tour Pros, including Jack Nicklaus. "I
have worked with Maxfli to develop a number of products over the
years," said Nicklaus. "The objective for the Elite ball
was to develop a Tour performance golf ball with softer feel, lower
trajectory and higher spin, without losing distance. Maxfli has
developed a breakthrough golf ball with the Elite. I'm excited about
putting this one into play in April."
Maxfli
claims the Elite to be seven yards longer off the driver than the
Titleist Tour Prestige and three yards longer than the Titleist
Professional as well as having a higher spin rate off the eight
iron and a cover that is 10 per cent softer.
Maxfli's
testing results for the Elite were performed using a True Temper
"Iron Byron" with the following average launch conditions
setup using a Maxfli Elite: Driver data gathered using a ball speed
of 156 mph at a launch angle of 8.3 degrees with 3036 rpm backspin.
*Mathias
Gronberg used a Maxfli ball, irons, bag, headgear and glove when
he won the South African Open last month.
*A
7.5 tonne Maxfli Tour Truck, stocked with every conceivable piece
of equipment for the company's tournament players, will shortly
make its debut on the European Tour.
