NEW ALL-WEATHER GOLF GREENS FOR HOME
AND COMMERCIAL USE
An
innovative all-weather golf green system, available in a wide
range of kit sizes to suit home or commercial use, has been
launched by Huxley Golf in response to demand from professional
and amateur golfers, golf clubs, teaching academies, driving
ranges, hotels and leisure resorts.
The
Hampshire firm, which specialises in premier all-weather surfaces
for golf, has installed practice greens for Ryder Cup star
Darren Clarke, England Rugby Coach Clive Woodward and the
English Golf Union's National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa.
"Up
to now, our premier all-weather greens have required skills
and experienced installation and time-consuming base preparation"
explained Director Paul Huxley. "This new system combines
quick, labour-saving installation features with a specially
manufactured crush resistant nylon turf surface that looks
and putts like tournament green. Installation normally takes
just a few days and there's virtually no maintenance."
Standard
kit sizes range from 15ft by 15 ft (4.57m by 4.57m) to 45ft
by 60 ft (13.72m by 18.29m), but any larger size or shape
is available to special order. Undulations and borrows can
be incorporated during installation and customers can choose
the number of holes they want.
"The
kits are very comprehensive", says Paul Huxley, "but
do not include items like builders stand for the base which
can be purchased more economically by the customer locally.
We can arrange for professional installation by us or by trained
installers, and are happy to give free advice to "Do-It-Yourself"
installations. We aim to set up a network of trainer installers
throughout the country."
Huxley
says that their new greens provide a superb surface for putting
and chipping practice, and for fun or competition to suit
all ages.
Huxley
Golf has a demonstration site in Hampshire and will shortly
be installing the new all-weather greens in various parts
of the country including at a members' golf club near Edinburgh.
