TEES OFF WITH LAUNCH OF
WOMEN'S GOLF CLOTHING
A
start-up operation, FirstCut will meet the demand from women
golfers for more contemporary styles and fashions by offering
a mail order and web-based purchasing service at www.first-cut.co.uk.
The new service will appeal to women golfers who have, up
until now, been disappointed by limited choice and no easy
way to purchase their favorite golfing brands.
FirstCut
stocks three well known ladies golfing brands, BackTee,
Lyle & Scott, Ashworth and some it's own brand range
for its launch season Spring/Summer 2000 - it already has
plans to expand that list in its second season.
Louise
Mayor, founder of the company, who plays off 21, says: "The
reaction we have had so far to the idea has been fantastic,
both from supplier and players. Suppliers feel that it is
often a battle for them to get floor space in pro shops
which are now always interested in stocking women's clothes.
FirstCut can effectively give suppliers almost unlimited
floor space in women's homes through mail order and through
the rapidly expanding use of the internet. Players are keen
because using First Cut gives them greater choice and lets
them try leading brands in their own home, in their own
time."
FirstCut's
aim to provide comfortable clothes that are not only of
excellent quality but that look as good off the golf course
as they do on. The company is forward looking about the
types of clothes it stocks, carrying only the more contemporary
styles available in women's golf clothing. Louise Mayor
believes its time for the women's golf game to modernise
and that goes for clothes as well as rules!
