New Cleat From Softspikes

Softspikes have introduced the Shadow cleat which they expect will be featured on more than 55 per cent of FootJoy branded golf shoes next season.

The Shadow, an upgrade in performance, according to Softspikes, from their XP Extra Performance cleat, features a flat centre design, with wider, reinforced legs which offer greater durability and traction than the XP.

The Shadow is also designed to be more agronomically friendly over the many types of grasses and conditions that golfers experience.

Jon Hyman, chief executive officer of Softspikes, said: "The XP cleat has been an enormously successful product for us, and with the Shadow we have improved upon the XP. Along with our strategic partner, FootJoy, we are excited to bring this cleat to the market place."

The Shadow will be available in the fast-twist insert system (found on FootJoy shoes and other leading brands), as well as the small metal thread insert and the large plastic thread insert.
