BROCKET’S
SCHOOL SET TO SHARPEN SKILLS
Golfers
wishing to sharpen their skills will be delighted to hear
that the much- awaited indoor school at Brocket Hall’s Golf
Academy has just opened.
The
indoor school is an integral part of the impressive facilities
at the club which boasts 42 holes of golf and is poised to
become the hub of this centre of excellence which is managed
by respected teaching professional and golf columnist Keith
Wood and his team.
Open
to members and non-members alike, the school features the
latest state of the art technology in the V1 Swing Analyser
– the first of its kind in the country. The V1 provides innovative
hi-tech instruction and training, allowing constant slow motion
reference so that body sway, posture, persistent faults and
habits can be analysed and dissected, whilst shot distance,
ball and club-head speed can also be measured. The V1 can
even be used to overlap the set up and swing of a particular
pro highlighting the similarities and differences between
the players.
Brocket
Hall’s Head Professional Keith Wood is delighted with the
new developments at the club: “The indoor school not only
provides us with the most sophisticated method of instruction
as golfers look to computer technology to improve their game.
“From
the school we are running a variety of residential and non-residential
instruction programmes - tailored to meet all abilities -
from individual instruction and single lessons to very intensive
and focussed programmes which make use of the accommodation
in Brocket Hall and Melbourne Lodge. We hope that it will
become one of the best teaching venues in the UK.”
The
Brocket Hall Golf Academy also features a testing Donald Steel
designed par 3 course, which is situated in mature woodland,
together with a short game area. This includes two pitching
greens surrounded by a variety of bunkers and hollows together
with an expansive three-tier putting green with flat, undulating
and contoured conditions.
