DYNAMIC BALANCE SYSTEM BREAKS NEW GROUND IN ASSESSING GOLF SWING TECHINQUE

The Dynamic Balance System, the only one of its kind in Europe, was installed in the European Golf & Leisure Club, to provide players with analysis from which they are able to assess and correct their weight balance, centre of gravity and posture during their golf swing.

The Dynamic Balance System works through sensors built into the Astroturf stance mat that displays the results on a monitor next to the player.  It detects the weight transfer from one foot to the other and then calculates the shift in the centre of gravity to give an indication of body posture and weight transfer on impact.

"The results show players of all abilities the areas where improvements are required and helps to maintain a more consistent golf swing through the impact zone", said Peter Hudson.

The European Golf & Leisure Club's Dynamic Balance System has been warmly received by coaches, golf professionals and amateurs alike, and is viewed by many as a fundamental teaching tool. Richard Silman, Bishops Stortford's local touring pro, has used the Dynamic Balance System on several occasions as part of his extensive coaching programme with Matt Belsham.  Richard realised that most of his weight was on his toes at impact and was able to adjust his centre of gravity accordingly and started to win on the tour again. Peter Cherry, an Eastern Region Professional from Harpenden Golf Club spent just 30 minutes and detected that although his plot was good, he was able to get his centre of gravity under tighter control without changing his basic swing.  He shot a 66 in competition the next day and similar low scores over the following three weeks.

European Golf and Leisure Club based at Harlow, Essex has a progressive approach to teaching and improving the way people of all abilities play golf. The indoor school has introduced over 1000 members to an ongoing programme of tuition and practise centred around a number of teaching aids including their unique swing

frames, video analysis, practise bays and smart golf simulator where golfers can play many courses around the world in real-time.

The European Golf and Leisure Club have a rental scheme for the Dynamic Balance System.  If you are interested, please contact Peter Hudson on 01279 420460.
